David and Susan information in the Albion ward records (FHL film # 7346) It says: David Lewis born 5 May 1832 York State, Clinton County, records received from Mill Creek? Utah (the writing is very poor) -right under him is Susan Augusta Lewis - Parents: David Lewis and Eunice Wilbur, born 1 Jan 1878 in Brigham City, Box Elder, Utah - baptised 20 Dec 1890 by Wm T Harper - confirmed 21 Dec 1890 by Wm T Harper (I think that must have been in Albion since he is in the Albion ward records) Susan's records came from Grantville Utah.

"Our" family records have always shown David's birthdate as 1831. The 1850 Census records (he is in Iowa and Utah) show him as age 19; the 1860 as 30; the 1880 as 49. We can't find him or any of the family in 1870. The Mormon Overland Pioneer Trail also shows him as 19 in 1850. In the 1900 Census he added 10 years and is shown as age 80, born May 1820. In 1910 he is 92 and in 1920, he is 103. Mary Clark Weber, his great granddaughter, says her family thought he was 103 when he died. In the newspaper article, he says he was born in 1818. Anyway, I think it is pretty obvious that he changed his age to fit some of his stories. (He claimed to be a friend of Jim Bridger who was known for his tall tales and I think he copied Jim Bridger). But I'm not sure how to really prove whether he was born in 1831 or 1832.
